Neodymium sulfide exists in two structural forms: α-type and γ-type. The α-type, isomorphic with Gd2S3, belongs to the orthorhombic crystal system and exhibits a red-brown solid state. On the other hand, the γ-type, isomorphic with Th3P4, belongs to the cubic crystal system and appears as a yellow solid. With a density of 5.46g/cm³ and a melting point of 2207℃, neodymium sulfide is an n-type semiconductor material possessing unique physical and chemical properties.
