Silicon Nitride Target (Si3N4)

Silicon nitride is a compound of the elements silicon and nitrogen; S3N4 is the most thermodynamically stable of the silicon nitrides. As such, Si3N4 is the most important silicon nitride commercially available and is generally understood to be referred to when the term "silicon nitride" is used. It is a white, high melting point solid that is relatively chemically inert and is subject to attack by dilute HF and hot H2SO4. This is very difficult (Mohs hardness of 8.5). It is highly thermally stable.

Application of Silicon Nitride Target (Si3N4)

 Silicon nitride is used as advanced refractory material, such as Si3N4 SiC refractory combined with SiC for blast furnace body and other components; If combined with BN as Si3N4-BN material, it can be used for horizontal continuous casting separation rings. The Si3N4-BN series horizontal continuous casting separation ring is a fine structured ceramic material with uniform structure and high mechanical strength. It has good impact resistance and will not be wetted by molten steel, meeting the requirements of continuous casting technology.

Besides, it can be used for the preparation of thermal interface composite materials, photovoltaic masterbatch agents, fluorescent powders, and special ceramics.
